Ingredients
2 tablespoons Dakshin Organics black pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup beef or chicken broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
Medium heat a skillet, toast the black pepper until fragrant for about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and crush them with a spice grinder.
In a saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat , add minced garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant for about 1 minute.
Add the crushed black peppercorns, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and broth to the saucepan. Stir to combine.
Let it cook for about 5-7 minutes in the simmer, allowing the flavors to meld.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for a couple of minutes until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
Serving Suggestions
Serve over grilled meats or stir-fried vegetables.
Use as a dipping sauce for spring rolls or dumplings.
Drizzle over rice or noodles for added flavor.
Storage
Store the sauce in an airtight container and can be refrigerated for up to one week. Reheat before serving.
